Ramsey Town

Visited the exhibition in Ramsey Town hall this morning. The plans are to increase the public use of open space (Market Place, Court House and Quayside) and make Parliament Street either more pedestrian friendly or titally pedestrianised.
I took a quick look at Parliament Street and noticed:
Many shopowners have made a real effort, indeed there are new shops.

But some of the buildings let the street down, not to mention the dirty or discoloured pavements. I know regular deep cleaning costs.

And this a new street sign, but on a very tatty wall

Cold but wet snow from the east and then the snow stopped and the sky slowly cleared and the the sun came out.

Togetherness

Out for a walk last week when I noticed two birds on a fence. It was a freezing cold day and they were all fluffed up sheltering from the cold. I quietly got the camcorder out and, resting it on a fence post, started to video. The birds moved together and for a few minutes I was part of what appeared to be a world of peace and contentment. This is the way to start the new year.
