Port Erin Walkabout August 2009

It was wet and dull, but with the forecast of better to come that I set off for a look around Port Erin. I like Port Erin, I live on the same island but almost never go there. I guess it is tucked away in a corner. Anyhow the rain had stopped and I enjoyed a stroll along Bridson Street. The Commissioners offices looked very smart. Where did they used to be? Just shows how rarely I go there.
One of the best parts of Port Erin is the way that the Steam Railway comes right into the heart of the village. I was in time for the rain departing for Douglas, so have made a separate video of this.
A visit to Ken Quine, Ironmonger and hardware proved the staff to be both friendly and helpful. The refreshments at the cafe at the Railway Station are highly recommeded.
Sadly I didn't have time for a visit to the Steam museum, that will have to wait.
